Sunday Rides

A word about Sunday Social Rides from the library.

If you're out for the burn, you may wish to do a Sunday northshore pool ride instead--there is a regular "show'n go" ride that leaves from there promptly at 8:00 a.m. (as far as I know, this is not an official club venue).

Rides from the library: Be ready to roll promptly at 8:30. If you're new to the group, please introduce yourself, afterall these are social rides.  Plus, you may not wish to get mixed in with an 28+mph ride to Clearwater (as far as I know, this also is not a club affiliated ride).

On Sunday mornings there are 2 social groups that head out from the library . A slower speed ride, 14/16 mph and do about 20 mile distances. There are a dozen or so that ride every week. This group has a pre-destination and they follow a schedule.

Another group rides at a pace ranging from 16-20 mph for 20+ miles distances. If there happens to be a "sprint", they regroup. Usually there are a dozen or so that ride every week. Ride destination is discussed on the morning of, usually decided by an elder.

Both groups stop for breakfast. However, some may return to the library, while others that rode in may opt to head straight home. Find out ahead of time, who is returning to the library.

For both rides, please have your bicycle in good riding condtion--and BRING A SPARE TUBE. Fellow riders are more than willing to stop and help fix a flat, but it'd be nice if you brought the fixin's. Oh, and don't forget the water bottle.

Some typical rides:
Weedon Island Ride
Pink Streets
Pinellas Park Ride
Pass-A-Grille
Fort DeSoto
Gulfport Loop to Seminole
Skyway Trail
Taylor Park via Walsingham Park
Note: routes on the above may vary.
